MTIC conducts 2 or more Open supervised bodywork labs per month. Students attend 86 hours of these classes throughout the year. The labs are open to all students. Students meet to exchange massage under the guidance of an MTIC teacher and many of the labs have special elective topics.

Electives may include pregnancy massage, Lomilomi, Sports massage, onsite chair massage, body mechanics, yoga, tai ji, spa techniques, Thai massage, Japanese foot and facial and many other electives.

The open bodywork lab is an excellent forum for students to meet and exchange giving and receiving massage hours while under direct supervision. The students can receive instruction in technique and it is also a good way for students to network with other classes.
