MTIC's mission is the basis for designing a program whose graduates are;

  • Proficient in the theoretical and clinical application of massage therapy

  • Proficient in Massage Therapy assessment skills, including postural analysis, joint range of motion, pelvis assessment, and special tests

  • Capable of performing accurate evaluations of clients using health histories, interviews, observation, assessment, postural analysis and special tes ts

  • Skilled in choosing appropriate massage methods and techniques suitable for each individual client
  • Technically competent in the application of Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial therapy and Ref lexotherapy.

  • Knowledgeable about pathology for massage and about indications and contraindications for massage.

  • Able to make appropriate decisions about when and how to refer clients to other health care professionals

  • Able to communicate in a knowledgeable and professional manner about massage therapy to clients and health care professionals

  • Knowledgeable about the correct and safe use of allied modalities for massage, such as liniments, lotions, special oils, hot packs, heat lamps, and cold packs

  • Able to establish a massage therapy practice and understand the various legal and ethical aspects relevant to massage therapy practice.
