Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado: Teaching time-honored methods in massage, healing, and bodywork for over twenty years.

Admissions

MTIC is devoted to high quality education for massage therapy. We teach the fundamentals that provide the base for developing advanced skills. Special emphasis is placed on massage skills, soft tissue normalization, neuromuscular balancing, the use of efficient biomechanics and postural balance. We use an integrative approach to acquaint the student with a broad spectrum of ideas and methods used in massage and holistic health.

Prospective applicants are welcome to schedule an appointment with MTIC. We will assist the prospective student in making applications decisions. It is the philosophy of the school to admit all people who have a strong desire to learn massage and have the ability to appreciate and take advantage of the unique curriculum at MTIC.

Each applicant who qualifies for admissions will be assessed for qualities appropriate for the practice of massage, including education, motivation, level of maturity, ability and communication skills. Students receive a free catalog when they call to request one, or when they come to the school for an interview or a tour.

Equal Opportunity Policy
MTIC does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, national or ethnic origin, disability or handicap, or other status when admitting students to its programs. Our requirements are uniformly applied for all students. The administrators of the school are designated to ensure that the school efforts comply with this policy.

We make accommodations for students with disabilities on an individual basis, depending on the situation. In most cases, the special considerations require additional expenses beyond our regular fees. In this case, the student will be responsible for any additional costs. Our training is physically challenging in itself, so those who are physically challenged may not be able to benefit from our training.

Financial Aid
MTIC provides financial assistance for those who qualify. Students may apply for a student loan through the College Assist lender consortium. MTIC also offers a variety of in house payment plans
Teaching Assistance
The Faculty and Teaching Assistants guide and support the students through encouraging them to practice giving and receiving massage, to take advantage of the reviews every 4 to 6 weeks to make up time and content, be available for tutoring at a standard rate of $25 per hour, etc. The student’s are responsible for getting their review/make-up form signed by the Teaching Assistant.
Student Advising
The program automatically guides the student through their education. The Chief Administrator and the Director make themselves available to advise students in any way possible during their educational pursuit.

When a student requests a referral or it becomes apparent that they need outside professional assistance, they are referred to professionals in the building, or to other appropriate professionals.

The Chief Administrator or Academic Director is available for Academic Direction. In cases where a student is not making satisfactory progress in a course, or in the program, the Academic Director will meet with the student. The Chief Administrator will meet with and review the file of each student to ascertain that the student is making appropriate progress, and is meeting an agreed upon plan.
