Confidentiality
MTIC has set requirements to protect the privacy of students concerning their records with access to confidential files approved by Administrative personnel only. During the Orientation, the student signs a form giving their permission to be included in a school directory or to be excluded from it.

Permanent records for all students are kept in fireproof file cabinets. Information contained in the student files are kept strictly confidential, however, students may make an appointment to view their files. Information in the files can be released to other people only upon a student’s prior written consent and authorization, with some exceptions. Legal and accrediting authorities, and parents who claim the student as a dependent for income tax purposes may view student files.

MTIC allows the students to view their educational files and provides an opportunity for the students to challenge the accuracy of the contents. In most cases, the problem can be resolved quickly and easily. If the problem is not resolved, a formal written appeal can be filed following the complaint procedure.
